With help from El Paso's official mascot, Amigo Man, the 2015 USBC Open Championships got off to a festive start Saturday at the El Paso Convention Center.
The Special Olympics National Unified Tournament celebrated its 25th
year alongside the OC as more than 330 competitors made
their way to the El Paso Convention Center.
The El Paso Convention Center recently was transformed into a
state-of-the-art bowling facility, and the venue opened its
doors for the first time this weekend.
The El Paso media and a few lucky locals got a sneak peek at the completed transformation of the El Paso Convention Center. The 2015 OC starts March 7.
The nation's top college bowling teams can begin charting their course
toward the 2015 national title as sectional-qualifying assignments were
handed out Wednesday.
The Wichita State women and Robert Morris-Illinois men claimed the
titles Sunday at the Hoosier Classic, the largest event of the USBC
Collegiate season.
Collegiate bowler AJ Johnson went undefeated in the double-elimination
match-play bracket to earn the top seed for Sunday's televised finals of
the 2015 USBC Masters.
